A financial advisor is licensed to sell  investment products and sometimes insurance.  Some of them can help with overall financial management but overall are just concerned with your portfolio of investments.  A financial coach works with you to achieve financial goals by helping with your mindset, giving you tools and strategies to deal with day-to-day money management.  They do not sell investments, but hopefully they can refer you to someone who can help you with that when necessary.

I'll start by asking why does someone hire a personal trainer at the gym, or a business coach, or any other type of coach?  People hire coaches to accomplish goals in a certain area of their life where they haven't had luck doing this on their own. Coaches can help you reach your goals by developing a personalized plan just for you based on your situation.  Coaches provide accountability, encouragement, a listening ear, and probably advice you haven't heard before.
